Stehlík Bohumil: Pictures - CD

Every piano has a different soul. The first softly coos with a lullaby, the second talks wisely like an old man about life, another is brimming with energy like a young stallion and rocks the chandelier in the hall. In concerts, the pianist encounters many instruments of different sound qualities and colours. Bohumír Stehlík decided to record these different qualities, and the result is a very unusual CD Pictures, which presents eight pictures of pianos of famous brands - Steinway, Bösendorfer, Fazioli, Petrof and others - in ten musical pictures.

On the CD, the listener will find both improvisations, in which the pianist suggests what music he wants to play, and original compositions that have been chosen to match the characters of the individual instruments. The album is a personal musical expression, where the author and performer in one person reflect on their motives and feelings, and also an interesting probe into the wonderful world of pianos.
