Sting: Ten Summoner's Tales

LP Record As Rolling Stone magazine noted in its review of the album, Sting's band at the time seemed capable of "playing just about anything". Equally remarkable was the fact that, despite surrounding himself with 18 seasoned musicians – including former David Bowie saxophonist David Sanborn – the album felt lively and reflected Sting's newfound light-heartedness. Ten Summoner's Tales is arguably his most energetic record to date, seemingly harking back to the jazz excursions of his earlier solo albums – though now delivered in a more subtle, radio-friendly manner. If Sting was waiting for a hit, he was richly rewarded for it.
