Stivín Jiří, Favre Pierre: Trips (2x CD) - CD

The famous double album Trips was born relatively quickly. In 1979, the Swiss drummer Pierre Favre met Jiří Stivín at the Prague Jazz Days, and the idea of a joint record was born at a joint concert.
In addition to spontaneous joint improvisations from concerts and the studio, composed parts, layered soundscapes and choirs were added. The basis of everything is still the connection of both instrumentalists, because in the duo - as Jiří Stivín recalls in the booklet - there may be an alchemy of understanding.

The double album Trips became a small sensation right after the release and was ranked among the most remarkable European jazz projects of the year in the year of release. The double album then disappeared from the market for many decades and after almost 40 years it was released in 2019 in a re-edition on a compact disc.
