Strange roots

In her book, actress Hana Frejková (born 1945) searches not only for her own family roots, but also - and perhaps especially - for the key to the fate of her parents, who dedicated their lives to the communist movement that mercilessly crushed them. First of all, her father Ludvík Frejka, one of those sentenced to death in the trial of the so-called Frejka. an anti-state conspiracy center, executed fifty-five years ago. Frejková approaches official documents in a very personal and courageous way, even though they caused her considerable pain. Her dramatic and profound attempt at catharsis is unparalleled in Czech memoir literature. Length 4 hrs. 24 min. 29 sec.
