Stranger Things: Rebel Robin
How to survive high school and stay yourself
High school is a monster that devours everything you love. Robin Buckley, the beloved character of the third season of the Netflix horror sci-fi series and now the heroine of the novel Rebel Robin, knows this all too well. It's the beginning of the school year and the race to be more normal is on again at Hawkins High School.
The plan is clear: boys find a girl, girls find a boy and have boring conversations about school and future careers. Robin, who plays the French horn, speaks several languages and makes venomous remarks, he can fake this "normalcy" - he's been doing it for years, hoping, that if possible no one will notice, how different she is. But now there's a new circumstance that doesn't fit the heroine's carefully constructed image, something Robin is still discovering: she likes girls.
The only way to stay herself is to give up on provincial Hawkins and flee to Europe for the summer. But how, when she has no money, her parents would probably not be enthusiastic and there is no one on the horizon with whom she can embark on this adventure?
