Stress during adolescence

The introductory chapter discusses the nature of stress in a psychological sense. Specifically, we consider the stress associated with growing up in childhood and adolescence, and the behaviour of young people. The second chapter focuses on the perception of parental conflict during adolescence. It presents the fundamental theoretical approaches to examining conflicts between parents and their impact on the maladaptation of adolescents, as well as a number of results from empirical studies. The third chapter discusses the importance of young people's sense of social inclusion. We describe the ways in which young people cope with various forms of social exclusion. In the fourth chapter, we describe various mechanisms of leisure activities that contribute to coping with often challenging situations.
