Suchý Jiří: Anytime, Anywhere - Golden Collection (3x CD) - CD

The Golden Collection is a small contribution to the celebration of a genius poet, lyricist, composers, writers, the singer, actor, musician, Graphic Design, director, creator of the Semafor theater, in short, a great Czech culture. Jiří Suchý.
In the selection of a total of 75 songs, we offer a cross-section of Suchý' s diverse work, from the youthful paraphrase of Voskovec and Werich in the song Sardinka to contemporary versions of the American spirituals Release My People Now and Little David played the harp.
The first disc contains famous hits of the 60' s, including several alternative period versions, the second less well-known songs from the normalization years of the 70' s and 80' s. , when Jiří Suchý was banned from radio and television. Often surprising interpretations of Jiří Suchý appear on the third disc : remakes from the work of V + W, songs with lyrics by the poet Josef Kainar or former Minister of Culture Pavel Dostál, American swing, songs by Captain Kid.
The extraordinary song Swallow of Swords was created in collaboration with Jaroslav Uhlíř, the composition Klaustrophobic from the collection of songs dedicated to mental illness, we will hear Suchý recite a composition by Petr Hapka and Michal Horáček, the jingle of a TV series with music by Michal Pavlíček (Anytime, anywhere), American gospels, including the spiritual When I' m at my worst, written by Suchý to the music of Karel Vágner about the flood of 2002, which saw the traffic light scene in Karlín.
In the booklet we will also find interesting contributions from collaborators (Jitka Molavcová, Michal Prokop, Milan Lasica) and a detailed commentary by the creator of the set, Lukáš Berný.
