Sufjan Stevens: A Beginner's Mind Ltd Clr

LP Record Films in the evening, music in the morning. It was once said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture (impossible and absurd). But what about singing about films? That's the exact idea behind the new collaborative album from Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine, "A Beginner's Mind". And this is how they brought it to life: the American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and his fellow American musical colleague took some time off at a friend's cabin, watched films at night, and wrote songs together in the morning, taking turns on music and lyrics. The result is 13 songs, loosely based on mostly popular films. The source material is sophisticated, low-brow, and everything in between.
