Summer in the countryside

Julie Caplin

Julie Caplin is the pseudonym of the British author of the bestselling Romantic Escapes series. She is addicted to travelling and good food. She is constantly on the hunt for the perfect gin and is unhealthily particular about glasses, tonic, and garnish. In between gin tastings, she wrote her first novel, The Little Café in Copenhagen, which launched her international success. As a PR director, she spent several years travelling around Europe, taking top food and drink journalists on press trips (so-called business trips) to experience the gastronomic delights of various cities around the world. These very places became the inspiration for her subsequent books, which were released in this order: The Little Café in Copenhagen, The Little Brooklyn Bakery, The Little Paris Patisserie, The Little Croatian Beach, The Little Iceland Hotel, The Little Teashop in Tokyo, The Little Swiss Ski Chalet, The Little Irish House, The Little Scottish Castle, and The Little French Vineyard (the novels are also available as audiobooks). The latest is the new release, The Little Italian Villa. She has visited the Czech Republic several times and was captivated by Prague on one occasion, which is why her upcoming book will be set right here.
