On the ferry to the Isle of Wight, Jodie leaves her London life, her career and her husband behind. She plans to retreat for a time to her brother's cozy houseboat, Sunny Days, where she hopes to find peace and quiet.

But from the moment he comes on board, it's clear that it's not going to be easy. If the eccentric Marilyn, who has taken on the very responsible task of looking after Jodie, isn't there, then Ned, the noisy sculptor from the houseboat next door, is.
