Tales from the other pocket

The stories from both pockets, written in 1929, are among the gems of Czech modern prose, which nowadays belongs to the classics. These are a series of crime stories. More important than the discovery of the crime, however, is Čapek's insight into the souls of the thieves and the good law enforcement officers.
