Tales of a Fucker
Booze, depression, sex, problems at work, with women, health and lack of money. and above all the constant inner struggle with oneself is solved in a peculiar and uncompromising way by the main hero of twenty short stories by the young talented prose writer and poet Jaroslav Irovský (*1985).
The author, who often finds himself in tragicomic situations, tells his (hero's) life experiences and stories with a great deal of self-irony. His perspective, very reminiscent of Charles Bukowski's naturalistic writing style, will eventually convince you that even in the worst of times, the most unpleasant, or the most mundane situations, life doesn't have to be taken completely seriously.
Jana didn't let herself be discouraged, she sat closer to me again and put her small hand on my right leg. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her away from my thigh. Just then the door opened again, and a young boy in a terribly long purple sweatshirt stood there. He was a couple of sizes shorter than me and looked like a seventh grader, which I wouldn't be surprised at. He noticed my hand on Jan's wrist and immediately rolled his eyes.
"What the hell is going on here?"
"What do you think? Miss and I are playing mommy and daddy," I replied calmly, not expecting any possible impending trouble.
"With my girlfriend?"
And trouble was in the world.
