Terrorism and Radicalisation in the Czech Republic
This publication deals with the issue of terrorism and radicalisation in the Czech Republic and responds to current trends and events of recent years. The team of authors, composed of experts from the academic and security spheres, looks at this phenomenon in the individual chapters from the perspective of various scientific disciplines and approaches.
The book reflects the practical insights and experiences of the authors, as well as findings from research and studies of security threats. The text describes risk phenomena, such as the causes and triggers of extreme aggression, and ways to counter them.
The authors discuss the attributes of lone wolf radicalisation, radicalisation from the perspective of the prison system, the activities of probation officers, the risks of extremist propaganda, the spread of hate speech in the online space, Salafist jihadism and cases of such motivated acts in the Czech environment, as well as the consequences and possible links between the pandemic crisis, migration and terrorism.
The ambition of the book is to open up questions related to this topic, to stimulate a broader expert debate and to initiate activities aimed at minimising radicalisation processes, detecting warning signs, raising awareness and preventing risky behaviour.
The publication is intended for members of the security forces, educational and social workers, psychologists and other helping professions, as well as for university students of law, security and humanities, but it will also serve well those interested in social affairs and state security.
