The Beatles: Rubber Soul/R. - CD

Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. The album was released in December 1965 and was produced by George Martin. Rubber Soul was recorded in just four weeks to be ready for Christmas. It was one of the band's greatest artistic successes, both critically and commercially. In 2003, it was ranked fifth on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The Beatles were an English rock and roll band from Liverpool. Its members were John Lennon (vocals, rhythm guitar), Paul McCartney (vocals, bass guitar), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals), and Ringo Starr (drums, occasional vocals). They are among the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. The music of The Beatles is still played and loved all over the world. When the renowned music magazine Rolling Stone compiled a list of the greatest albums in the history of popular music in 2003, The Beatles made the top ten a total of four times (including the number 1 spot for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band).

The Beatles are the best-selling music act in the history of the United States, according to the RIAA, which recognised them as the best-selling band in America based on album and single sales. In the UK, The Beatles released more than 40 different singles, albums, and records that climbed to number one in the charts. This commercial success was repeated in many other countries. Their record company, EMI, estimated that by 1985 they had sold over a billion records and cassettes worldwide. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked The Beatles at number one on its list of the 100 greatest artists in history. According to the magazine, their innovative music and cultural influence helped to define the 1960s, and their impact on popular culture is still evident today.

The Beatles were at the forefront of the British Invasion of the United States in the mid-1960s. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the band experimented with many different genres, from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements set the trends of their time, while their growing social awareness influenced the social and cultural upheavals of the 1960s.
