The Case of the Disappearing Brides

Will Tadeáš from Příhraz be able to solve a previously lost case?

Tadeáš of Příhraz goes to Nymburk to attend a festival in honor of Saint Hubert. An unexpected trip soon leads to an investigation when the local priest asks him to prove the innocence of his friend Hostivít from Hořátve. He is awaiting execution after being convicted of numerous heinous crimes. At first, Tadeáš refuses to devote time to a lost case, but that changes when he is attacked by an unknown assailant. This brings back memories of the investigation he conducted in Nymburk more than a year ago. The search becomes considerably more complicated when Hostivít flees from prison, leaving more dead bodies behind, and Tadeáš loses the commander of the castle garrison, Jozífko. Will Tadeáš be able to unravel the strange tangle of questions this time and not disappoint his protector, Wenceslas II?
