The culmination of summer

Deeply reflexive prose with an existential and socio-critical overlap. Eleven short stories, eleven moments when time stops – or breaks. The heroes of these texts grapple with exhaustion, silence and their own shadows: in a garden centre, on a running track, in the middle of a Mikulov winter, or near a nuclear power plant. The culmination of summer signifies a peak – but also a transition, a fall, a reconciliation. The collection sensitively combines raw realism with inner lyricism, absurdity with gentle grotesque. Each story here is like a transparent cross-section of a place, a state, a relationship – without pathos, but with deep understanding.
