The Curse of the Clan

A young journalist, Alice Berger, leaves her promising career and her modern Prague apartment due to disputes with colleagues and finds herself in Juratov, a town where time has seemingly stopped. She becomes an editor at an insignificant regional weekly and gradually gets to know the local people and conditions. The peaceful running of the town is suddenly disrupted by the tragic death of one of Alice's colleagues. Alice is unwilling to believe that it was a suicide, so she embarks on her own investigation. Robin, a local restaurant owner looking for a distraction after the loss of the love of his life, readily offers to help. The murdered journalist was reportedly working on a major project before his death. Could this activity have cost him his life? Or is his death really related to the supposed curse on the city, as everyone claims?
