The Dead Wanderer

Ladies in distress involve jacob jelinek from hirsberg in a new case.

The year is 1598. The knight Jakub Jelinek of Hiršberg is asked to accompany a charming widow and her equally charming daughter to Brandýs and ensure their safety. The purpose of their stay is unclear, but there are speculations that secret negotiations between the courtiers of Rudolf II. and English diplomats. In such a case, the lives of the actors would be at risk. The Spaniards cannot allow Rudolph II. with Queen Elizabeth of England, and they will oppose it by all means. Jakub Jelinek is not worried yet. He expects to spend the next few weeks doing nothing in the sun-drenched forest glades, or at best in love affairs. But he is wrong about that. An initially peaceful stay in the Brandy woods turns into a nightmare and eventually into a fight for life. Vladimír Šlechta once again plays out a thrilling tale from Rudolphine Bohemia, where politics mixes with superstition, alchemy sizzles from every corner and the dead sometimes speak louder than the living.
A historical detective story from the golden Prague, a city of intrigue, crime and vice.
