The death of old Masha
It was, it wasn't. The Virgin Mary died in Warsaw, poachers mated grouse bellies, lion's paws were used to sew fancy dress boots, caravans were closed in Persia, the full moon lent rabbits fur coats and Rye the magician cackled over Prague. The death of old Masha a collection of six allegorical short stories, is an attempt to tell the story of the present as if it had happened long ago and only the torso of myths remained - or just the opposite, it's an attempt to look in the present what's left of the myths.

The Death of Old Masha is ultimately an experiment, a genre play and an attempt to tell the story of the present as if it had happened long ago and only the torso of myths remains - or, on the contrary, it is an attempt to find the torso of myths in the present. A romantic gesture in any case.
I'm trying to abstract the most general - fear of the stranger, rejection of difference, imperial perspective, with which we view third world countries, and so on - and talk about these phenomena as if they were otherworldly, kind of alienate them, but at the same time to set them in the backdrop of folk literature, that may give the impression of familiarity, because whatever our experience, tales and stories we've all read.
