The Derikuyu case

Beneath the surface of the city, a civilisation emerged that wanted to survive everything. It built a perfectly controlled system, a core and a spiral mechanism designed to protect the future. But every mechanism has its cycle. And as the next activation approaches, questions begin to arise for which there are no easy answers.

Eran, a man obsessed with knowledge, descends into the depths of the underground city and gradually discovers that the core responds to the human voice, transmitting messages and ultimately laying down a condition. A condition that leads to the confinement, decline and near-oblivion of an entire civilisation.

The novel about the spiral is not just a story about the underground. It is a disturbing mirror of our times. About the technologies that both protect and threaten us. About growth that has its limits. About the question of what will be left of us – besides plastic, depleted soil, and silence.

Pavel Hrejsemnou’s gripping philosophical novel explores the fragility of civilisations and the courage to change course before the cycle runs its course.
