The aim of this monograph is to present the development of the rules of conduct in road traffic in the socialist era, i.e. in the years 1948-1989. During the period under study, motoring underwent a tumultuous development, traffic on the roads and streets became thicker and the accident rate increased proportionally. This became the impetus for change, reflecting ideological, political, transport security and economic considerations. In addition to the actual rules of the road, the monograph also deals with the issue of traffic accidents, technical condition of vehicles, road signs and insurance. Attention is also paid to practical details such as the use of safety helmets or seat belts, the content of driver training and testing, and alcohol testing behind the wheel.
