The Duke and I

Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, has hatched a plan to get rid of all the matchmakers and marriage-minded young ladies in society. He pretends to be fond of the charming Daphne Bridgerton, his friend's younger sister, with whom he makes a deal to court her in appearance only. Although he has no intention of marrying, there is something about this girl that makes his heart race. Daphne soon forgets that their courtship is just a pretence. Perhaps it's the captivating look in his piercing eyes or the way she feels in his arms, but over time she truly falls in love with the spirited duke. However, she must prevent the handsome duke, who has sworn to remain a bachelor forever, from breaking her heart, whatever the cost.
