The Enemy at the Gates - DVD

It is 1942 and the Nazi army is tightening the death noose in Russia. The people of Stalingrad, led by Khrushchev (Bob Hoskins) and ably assisted by Vasily Zaitsev (Jude Law), bravely resist. The heroic stunts of this top sniper will become legendary thanks to the propaganda of Danilov (Joseph Fiennes), a politruk and his best friend. The Germans therefore send their sniper ace, Major König (Ed Harris), to Stalingrad to eliminate Vasili. When Vasily and Danilov fall in love with the same charming colleague in uniform (RACHEL WEISZ), Danilov abandons his companion and Vasily must face his German adversary alone. In the burning city, Vassili and König play a cunning game of cat and mouse and at the same time their own private war in the name of courage, honour and country.
