The Forester

A loner with a pure heart fights against bandits. Nichema Beasleyi wants to appropriate the property of a dying farmer, so she decides to kidnap the farm's young heiress. However, Milt Next, the forester, protects the girl. The strength of the book is the wonderful descriptions of nature. The forest at sunset smells sweetly of pines and firs, the rays of the setting sun shine on the highest mountain of the White Mountains. The area, full of deep forests and clear rivers, lies at an altitude of 3,000 metres above sea level and is surrounded on all sides by the Southern Arizona desert. This is the home of Milt Dale, a thirty-year-old backwoodsman who is not interested in farming or sheep farming, but in nomadic life in the wild. When he learns of a plot against a dying farmer, whose sheep and land the villainous Beasleys want to appropriate and at the same time kidnap the heiress - young Helena - he decides to save the lovely girl. The author embellishes their journey to safety with beautiful descriptions of Wild West nature. The two young people fall in love. Love for Helena makes Milt search for himself and think about his inner conflict: stay in his solitude in the wilderness, or go back to the people in the village and be useful?
