The fragile patient and primary care

This publication is the first to publish a comprehensive approach to disadvantaged, frail, dependent people with severe disabilities. It introduces the professional public to the gradually evolving concept of long-term care (LTC), by which the international community tries, in the spirit of the best humanistic traditions and with the use of modern medical and technical possibilities, to provide these "people at risk" with a quality of life, preferably in a natural home environment assisted by community services. The publication responds to and puts into practice EU recommendations from recent years.
