The Full Monty - DVD

Set in the northern English industrial city of Sheffield, the bitter comedy DO NAHA! Six men, led outwardly by sovereign Gaza and facing financial, family and psychological problems, will try to raise money. He will organize a men' s striptease show, whose attractions are themselves. However, it is not at all easy for any of them to expose themselves in public and at the same time maintain their dignity.

In his debut, director Peter Cattaneo works with strong types, which, in addition to their appearance, are usually characterized by dramatic internal contradictions. The story is told with sparkling, dry, sometimes black humor and also with a light dose of sentiment. In addition, it grows against the background of a convincingly portrayed social reality: the problems of the heroes are not primarily existential, but rather existential. In the awkward striptease dance, it is more about revealing their bodies than revealing their insides. The nudity, around which the whole story seems to revolve, thus completely loses its erotic charge.
