The Golden Scam - DVD

A film about love, basketball, and hope.

A story of passionate love, basketball, and life in the shadow of politics.
The film begins in 1938. The main storyline follows the fateful love between a young lawyer and sportsman, Franta (Filip Březina), and a dancer, Michelle (Patricia Volny), whom he meets at the post-war European Basketball Championship in Geneva. Michelle is a girl pursued by fate, having fled her homeland from both Stalin and Hitler.
Their story, influenced not only by politics but also by two contrasting individuals, coach Valenta (Stanislav Majer) and official Hrabal (Ondřej Malý), culminates in 1951, by which time the Iron Curtain has already divided Europe for many years.
