The Last Builder

When Václav Budovec of Budov, the last descendant of the ancient Budovec family, is unjustly disgraced and exiled from his homeland, he seeks revenge. In his heart there is only immense pain and hatred for the woman he once loved, and for those who have sullied his honour and disgraced the glorious name of his ancestors. Those who stood by and watched without saying a word in his favour cannot be spared.

What was it that stirred up such a great resentment in him, and led him to return in disguise, under a false name, and with a squad of deserting imperial soldiers, to wreak the most terrible vengeance, which was consummated by the tremendous conflagration of the Old and New Towns of Prague?
