The Last Letter
In an old writing desk, Luisa Ward finds several letters from Nikolas Renard, a man separated from her by centuries, who is very likely an ancestor of her husband, James. Out of curiosity, they begin to explore his strange views, even though they are convinced that universalism is just a dishonest fabrication believed only by those who turn a blind eye to the truth and the clear message of the Bible. But as they start to familiarise themselves with Greek, they discover to their amazement that the original biblical message does not sound as hellish as the translations. For many years, they have both faced a painful question: Will they ever see their son again, who committed suicide? One thing has always been clear to them – they cannot believe what they want to believe just because it is appealing; they must believe what is provably true. But is it even possible to find out how things really are here on Earth? The year is 2019, and Luisa and James are going on holiday to the house where Count Nikolas Renard died, which is now a guest house. On this journey, they are accompanied by Nikolas's memories.
