The Legend of Language - Nepomucký 1972

The medieval legend of St. John of Nepomuk comes to life in the backdrop of 1972

The occupying Soviet army feels at home in normalized Czechoslovakia, and party vetting has just ended in companies, offices and schools, and a wave of layoffs has begun. But you can build a great career in State Security.
Július Dobrotka's family moves to Prague from the Slovak mining town of Handlová, where he is eager to participate in the construction of the Prague metro. His 19-year-old son Tomáš, however, is much more interested in history than in the metro and politics. With their new classmates Táňa, Martin and Klara from the Faculty of Philosophy, they explore Prague, listen to big beat music, delve into medieval disputes and research the legend of Jan Nepomucký.
They are eagerly awaiting whether the golden reliquary, which is to be opened during the reconstruction of St. Vitus Cathedral, really contains the preserved language of this medieval saint. They even approach a young French anthropologist, an intern at the National Museum, to interview him for a university magazine. What they don't know is that someone else is watching their search from afar...
