The Machat sisters

In the history of Czechoslovak sport and theatre it is hard to find twins who had two identical and so successful careers – one sporting with medal successes at the World Championships in modern gymnastics and the other dancing as a solo ballerina at the State Theatre in Brno. In addition, they had their own private lives, families and children, and Hana's second husband was the famous hockey player Vlastimil Bubník. They are still remembered as Machatky, although in July 2018 they celebrated their 80th birthday in full force and with optimism.
