The magic fish bone

Not all kings are created equal. And not every royal treasury is full of gold. King Josef Novák I (Jiří Ornest) led a life rich not in money, but in children. He has nineteen of them, in fact. It's no surprise the king is short on funds and his eldest daughter, Alenka, doesn't know which way to turn. Fortunately, one day His Majesty meets the mysterious fairy Bábrlína (Jiřina Jirásková) in Mr Pickles' (Petr Nárožný) shop. She cannot stand human poverty and helps wherever she can. Cast and characters: Věra Hučínová (Princess Alenka), Jiřina Jirásková (Bábrlína the fairy), Jiří Ornest (the King), Martin Zounar (Karlík), Petr Nárožný (Mr Pickles), Tomáš Staněk (Jakub), Monika Černá (Dorotka), Miroslava Hozová (the Queen) and Antonín Hardt (the Messenger). Directed by: Karel Weinlich. Filmed in 1993.
