The Mountain Between Us - Blu-ray

Idris Elba and Kate Winslet in a thrilling drama based on the novel by Charles Martin.

Alex (Kate Winslet) is a photojournalist in a rush to get to her own wedding, which is in two days. However, she's caught off guard by unexpected trouble at the airport – scheduled flights have been grounded due to an approaching storm. At the airport, she meets Ben (Idris Elba), a doctor hurrying to an important operation. And so, these two random fellow travellers consider it great luck when they find a pilot of a small plane willing to fly with them. But their joy evaporates the moment the pilot suffers a stroke mid-flight and the plane crashes to the ground.

This leaves the two passengers, who only met at the airport for the first time, stranded in the middle of snow-covered mountains with no hope of rescue. The radio is smashed to pieces, the pilot is dead, and all around them is just snow, mountains, rocks, and uninhabited wilderness. The flight was not officially logged, so no one is looking for the missing plane.
The more daring Alex realises that no help is coming for them, convinces a hesitant Ben, and they set off on a perilous journey. In these extreme conditions, their only chance of survival is to form a strong bond despite their differences and find a shared strength they never knew they had. They begin to find their way to each other, re-evaluating their pasts and fighting for their very lives in the extreme conditions. Will they succumb to their physical and emotional wounds, or will they learn to believe in trust and love again in a seemingly hopeless situation? And if they survive, can they return to their old lives?
