The Mystery of Blood - DVD

The Mystery of Blood - DVD
The year is 1895. The young doctor Jan Janský wants to devote himself to surgery. Intrigue, nepotism and existential necessity force him to accept a place in a psychiatric clinic.
He is attracted by the possible link between mental illness and the randomness of results in blood transfusions. After endless experiments, he reveals the principles of blood clotting and the existence of the four basic blood groups, which meant the possibility of widespread use and success of blood transfusion in medical and surgical interventions.
He lectures at the Society of Czech Physicians, but is met with ridicule and humiliation. MUDr. Jan Janský lived to see his untimely death. To this day, he remains an example of a scientist who, through his tenacity and diligence, managed to discover one of the secrets of nature.
