The Order of Time

Author, a leading theoretical physicist, co-creator of loop quantum gravity, but also an excellent writer, explores the mystery of time in his latest book, perhaps the world's greatest mystery. In the first part, it summarizes in a clear way what modern physics has discovered about time. He explains that physical time is not unique at all, it is not the same everywhere and flows the same way, it is not even continuous, and it completely disappears at the quantum level. Rovelli takes us into this wondrous world devoid of all temporality in the second part of the book, only to bring us back to us, to human beings, in the third part of his adventurous journey. It is necessary to explain where our intense feeling of time passing comes from. During the search for the perpetrator Rovelli comes up with a bold idea, namely that the perpetrator may be the detective himself. For perhaps the secret of time lies not in the foundations of the cosmos, but in ourselves.
