Novel awarded the Paszport Polityki 2020 Prize
Mother-daughter relationship. Good advice, remorse and love. A little unhealthy. But the mother had a child when she was young ("regretted dropping out of school, not the pregnancy") and didn't grow up on her own, then got sick - and left before she got old. Her daughter writes confessions in the language of songs, social media, stories, quotes.
It tells of the empty place left by a loved one, of sadness in a time and society that prefers to be young, happy and healthy and doesn't quite know how to deal with dying. Of course, it's the mothers' fault. Here too we could calculate a lot of errors: she drinks a little too much, doesn't get along with money and also with men, although she is attracted to them, dresses provocatively and is not consistent in her upbringing. But do we only love perfect mothers? You are allowed to laugh and cry while reading.
