The Other Wonderful Hotel Marigold - DVD

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, located in Jaipur, India, became a sanctuary for seven rather elegant and slightly eccentric British pensioners in the previous film, played with gusto by the elite of British acting. Now, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is fully booked with long-term residents, and its manager Muriel (Maggie Smith) and owner Sonny (Dev Patel) want to expand their business. They have a big dream called The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Meanwhile, the other members of their group are enjoying not only a renewed zest for life in India but also new friendships and romances. Evelyn and Douglas (Judi Dench and Bill Nighy) puzzle daily over where their regular breakfasts together might lead, while Norman and Carol (Ronald Pickup and Diana Hardcastle) are navigating the stormy waters of an exclusive relationship. Madge (Celia Imrie) is dazzling two suitors at once but faces a tough choice, as both are wealthy maharajahs. Sonny's mother, meanwhile, has become the muse of a new hotel guest, writer Guy Chambers (Richard Gere). It is this growing closeness between his mother and Guy that hotelier Sonny finds difficult to accept. He is convinced that this mysterious writer is actually an undercover American hotel inspector who has come to evaluate the quality of his services and could jeopardise his plans to join a global hotel chain. And as if that wasn't enough, his own wedding to Sunaina is fast approaching. A proper Indian wedding turns out to be a far more complicated project than building a new hotel. Sonny is desperately failing at both. Luckily, he is surrounded by his British friends, who handle everything with a sense of perspective, because depriving the audience of a wedding finale would be almost criminal.
