The Price of Tenderness - DVD

The Price of Tenderness, which was received with equal enthusiasm by audiences and critics alike, tells the remarkable story of two close people - a mother and daughter, played unforgettably by Shirley MacLainey and Debra Winger. Jack Nicholson also gave a great performance, in which his comedic talent shone through, as a former astronaut, a drunken womanizer and eventually a family friend. Jeff Daniels portrayed Debra Winger's happy husband in one of his first roles. In the film, which won five Academy Awards® For: Best Film 1983; Best Actress - Shirley MacLaine; Best Supporting Actor - Jack Nicholson; Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay were masterfully captured by director James L. Brooks developed the evolution of their relationship, sparing no deep feeling or humour and ironic exaggeration.
