The year 1968 brought many events of a gratifying and tragic nature. Among those rightly remembered with gratitude is definitely the release of several rock albums, partly re-released this year. The Rebels special project is one of the most memorable. The young band became famous for the excellent solo vocals of Mr. Plíva and Mr. Korn, great male multi-voices, carefully selected repertoire of mainly Californian westcoast style and a surprise in the studio in the form of a monothematic album side A.

Svatopluk Čech, Jiří Korn and Josef Plíva represented the complete singing and partly instrumental force of the Prague band admired and even awarded at the 1st Czechoslovakia State Music Festival. beat festival held in late 1967. The advance singles, however, indicated that the adopted repertoire was being replaced by home-grown, musically from the pens of the band and Václav Zahradník, and lyrically supplied by their peer and producer Michael Prostějovský. The original guitar arrangements were given an orchestral form, Zahradník's big band was assisted by the great musicians R. Rokl or J. Hynčica, at that time bold electronic couplers supplied by P. Kotik. The modern fairytale themes were then complemented by six very credibly sung songs from the Mamas & Papas repertoire.
