The Red Commissioner's lover

The gripping plot of this novel faithfully captures the real historical events that were to change the face of the world

The author of the book accidentally stumbles upon the writings of his distant great-uncle Leopold, who in 1917 found himself in the midst of the revolutionary changes in Russia. He is so intrigued by the memories that he decides to use them for his novel.

In it, a young Czech student at the University of Vienna is assigned a secret diplomatic mission and sets off to Russia with false papers in the midst of the raging First World War. Not only does he almost become a victim of mutual intrigues among the Russian revolutionaries, but he also falls head over heels in love with the beautiful young Nadezhda Rejsner, whom the Kronstadt sailors call their commissar.
