The voices of the bones
A masterpiece by a classic of Swedish literature, whose books are well known to Czech readers
On the coast of Öland, a man dies under a pile of stones, having previously placed a wreath of roses there. It doesn't seem to have been an accident. Policewoman Tilda Davidsson finds the bones of another man who was last seen fifty years ago under very dramatic circumstances by her relative, old Captain Gerlof. He wants to get to the bottom of what could have happened to the two people and together with Tilda he slowly unravels the consequences of an ancient tragedy accompanied by fear and hatred. It is so strong that there are many indications that the submerged man will probably not be the last victim.

Johan Theorin
Johan Theorin was born 3.9. 1963 in Gothenburg. From childhood he spent every summer on the island of Öland, which had a fatal influence on his later literary work. His mother's family, made up mainly of sailors, fishermen and farmers, had lived here for centuries and cared for the island's heritage, mysterious stories and folklore. This almost mystical setting inspired him to write a series of stories in which he masterfully combines the genius loci of Öland with a detective plot. He currently lives in Gothenburg and works as a journalist. Among other reasons, he is often compared to Stieg Larsson.
