Theory of Social Work I

Social work is currently one of the progressively developing disciplines and helping professions.

The aim of the publication is to introduce its basic theoretical background to students of social work. It can provide social workers with current professional discourses in the international field of this discipline, as well as in the specific Czech and Slovak conditions of its practice. The author of the publication is a renowned Slovak professor of social work who has published more than 160 scientific, professional and popular studies.

Among the best known are Ethics of Social Work (2010, 2012), Applied Social Pathology in Social Work (2011), Social Work Codes of Ethics (2016), Theory and methods of social work I, II (2015). The Czech edition of the theory of social work is the latest revision of the first part of the work.

The author uses not only his rich theoretical knowledge but also his practical experience from teaching social work in the Czech and Slovak environment, active participation in the development of the Slovak professional law on social work and the code of ethics.
