A psychedelic journey through Latin America
When Jitka gets a serious autoimmune disease, she deals with it unorthodoxly. Instead of the doctors, she listens to the voice of her heart, which urges her to end her long-standing relationship, leave home and travel alone to Latin America to heal herself with the help of local ancient medicine.
Her story is about two journeys. An adventurous journey that takes her through the Amazon rainforest, mountains, desert and coastline across the Latin American continent. And then there is another, no less adventurous journey into her inner self and beyond the limits of ordinary consciousness, through which the psychedelic plant medicine of ayahuasca and San Pedro will take her. This unusual but compelling travelogue tells a story of trust, determination and the quest to understand illness and thus oneself.
Jitka Juliet Navrátilová has lived in London since her youth, where she works as a professional tour guide. Her biggest passion is traveling. She has also spent half of her life dealing with personal development techniques, women's spirituality and shamanism. All this is intertwined in her debut Thinking with the Heart.
