Three Sisters

Together forever, against all odds. From the author of the bestseller, The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Heather Morris brings us a stunning new story that will break your heart, leaving you astonished by the courage and profound love of three sisters, whose promise to each other kept them alive when it seemed there was no hope for survival.
When they were little, Cibi, Magda, and Livia promised their father they would stay close, no matter what happened. Years later, Livia is deported to Auschwitz—and Cibi voluntarily joins her. Only Magda manages to hide for a while in their native Slovakia, but she too soon ends up in the extermination camp. Face to face with death, the sisters make another promise: they will try to survive. And so begins their harrowing journey across a devastated continent, which will eventually lead them to a new life in Israel.
Heather Morris has done it again. She has used the experiences of three Slovak sisters who survived Auschwitz and shared with us the horrors and joys they lived through. The author's vivid descriptions, complete with quotes, times, dates, and places, are remarkable. It is an unimaginable story that needed to be told. I am so glad she did. You will be too.

What they're saying about Three Sisters

“The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a story of the power of love, hope, and the will to live despite all circumstances.”

Popsugar

“In the emotional follow-up, Cilka’s Journey, Morris tells the story of a woman who survived Auschwitz only to find herself imprisoned once more. The author’s compelling narrative shows that goodness can be found even in a gulag.”

Publishers Weekly

“Stories of Hope explores Heather Morris’s extraordinary journey. It is a series of beautifully rendered tales of the people she has met, the remarkable stories they have shared with her, and the lessons they hold for us all.”

Heather Morris

Heather Morris was born in New Zealand. She is the author of the global bestseller The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Her passion is for stories of survival, resilience, and hope. In 2003, while working in a hospital in Melbourne, she met an elderly gentleman who, he said, “might have a remarkable story to tell”. The day she met Lale Sokolov changed both their lives. As their friendship grew, Lale embarked on a journey of self-examination. He entrusted Heather with the most intimate details of his life during the Holocaust. Heather originally wrote Lale's story as a screenplay, which won major awards in international competitions, before rewriting it as her debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. The sequel to the successful book is titled Cilka's Journey.
