Traditional textile techniques

In this book, the author reveals the sources of human skill in this field and presents an overview of folk textile techniques, their historical origins, their spread, as well as instructions for their adoption and use today. In nineteen chapters, the methods of processing the thread by hand splicing are described in an illustrative manner, by scrubbing, by hammering, by networking, by knitting on the frame, on the form, plate, and special conditions. More than three hundred photographs show historical, especially folk artefacts, but also contemporary works. Through an overview of techniques and their cultural development, the author maps the textile culture and suggests a way to use handmade creative work to enrich modern life with a personally made work.
