U 2: Songs Of Experience -Deluxe Box Set - (2017) (2x LP + CD) - LP + CD

The legendary U2 release their album Songs of Experience!

One of the world's most popular rock bands, U2, is releasing their long-awaited fourteenth album, Songs of Experience, which is a follow-up to their previous record, Songs of Innocence. Both titles reference the collection of poems of the same name by the 18th-century English poet and mystic, William Blake.

After more than a decade, the first single released, You're The Best Thing About Me, became one of the top 20 most-played songs and was even remixed by Norwegian DJ superstar Kygo.

The new album follows the huge success the band achieved with the anniversary re-release of The Joshua Tree and this year's critically acclaimed tour of the same name, where U2 played to nearly 3 million fans over 51 concerts.

Thematically, the album is strongly influenced by the advice from Irish poet, novelist, and Trinity College Dublin professor Brendan Kennelly: "...write as if you're dead." The result is a collection of songs in the form of intimate letters to places and people close to Bono's heart. The subjects are mainly his family, friends, fans, and himself.
