V. Dyk, E. F. Burian: The Pied Piper

A special variant of a well-known Old German tale. Dramatisation by Emil František Burian. Directed by Josef Henke. “. Munzar's Pied Piper is a self-confident young man who is more unnerved by love than by the insults of the conchels. Gabriela Vránová's Agens subtly differentiates the relationship to Krysař and Kristián (Petr Haničinec). The despair of her crazy mother was uniquely portrayed by Marie Vášová between crying and laughing. The fair girls, Lora (Viola Zinková) and Kätchem (Karolina Slunéčková), bring a whiff of eroticism and cruelty. Soběslav Sejk used shaded vocal devices to introduce the simple fisherman Sepp Jörgen, the only one who remains to take in the abandoned crying child.
