Vanished Railway Lines, Vanished Stations 2
Rediscover the magic and history of the railway in this follow-up to the book 'Zmizelé koleje, zmizelá nádraží' (Vanished Tracks, Vanished Stations), published in 2019.
Due to the enormous historical scope, the first publication could not cover all the defunct lines. This left the authors with plenty of topics and material to work on, providing readers with a second treatise on railway lines that some may still remember, but which will surprise most readers with where public railways once existed and where picturesque stations once stood.
A large chapter is dedicated to cross-border railways, which disappeared mainly due to the changing conditions after the Second World War. Some of them were rebuilt after several decades and have been reopened. Among other things, you will learn more about the lines and realignments that were not described in the first book, for which interesting historical documentation has been obtained thanks to the passage of time. Just as in the first volume, you can look forward to clear maps and unique photographs.
