Various: Big Beat Line 1965-1968 - LP
Big Beat Line 1965-1968 / Famous big beat songs, this time again on vinyl
The successful 2CD of the same name gave birth to a new LP selection of the best. A total of 16 tracks capture the officially recorded and released first developmental phase of Czechoslovak big beat. You'll find a homemade Shadows-style guitar instrumental as well as an audio document of Olympik's journey from just a backing band of solo singers to a cohesive Mersey-style crew. You will hear interesting vocal and genre changes of Matadors, Mephisto and Flamengo. Petr Novák sings his first big hit here, his namesake Pavel and Karel Černoch show their excellent voices in the service of pop songs, but cult songs. The uniqueness is confirmed by the Bratislava Soulmen and the Brno Ulrych siblings. A major hit, for many the prototype of the great radio breakthrough of young electrified music, was contributed by Crystal. The magically simple sound of the period has been given an up-to-date remastering refresh. The cover graphically follows the proven CD line. The inner bag brings stories and photographs of important musicians from the beginnings of the domestic big beat, leading to a fundamental position in our popular music not only in the 1960s.
