Various: Bossa Nova Brasil (Coloured) - LP

Beco das Garrafas on Copacabana in Brazil is considered the birthplace of bossa nova. In a very modern social environment, the educated middle class experimented with new forms and expressions in music. Chega De Saudade by António Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, made famous by Jo? about Gilberto, is considered the first bossa nova. Gilberto and Jobim caused quite a stir with their new blend of samba and cool jazz. Their musical style and playing style was quickly adopted by many young musicians. After the military coup in Brazil, many musicians went into exile in the USA and with them bossa nova and the associated relaxed attitude towards life in Brazil went around the world.
